CIRCO lamp no.1 is the result of research and experimentation that explored various methods to create an original and aesthetic object from leftover materials, which were otherwise discarded by the tenants and buildings of the Contact Amsterdam creative community.

The frame is made from leftover wood material using CAD design and CNC milling, while the centerpiece is crafted from uniquely molded paper blocks, recycled from cardboard waste.

Throughout the research phase, various paper pulp techniques and recipes were tested to find the optimal method for creating the blocks, with consideration for their environmental impact. The paper pulp blocks are designed to be eco-friendly, sustainable, and easily reusable, ensuring minimal ecological footprint while showcasing the innovative potential of new materials.
